The project “Digital readiness and capacity building of humanities professors in universities through partnership with digital technologies companies -DigitUni” is a project funded under Erasmus+ Programme.
The project is coordinated by Vilniaus Kolegija, Lithuania. The partnership includes also Universitatea Transilvania Din Brasov, Romania; Panepistimio Patron, Greece; Fundacja Rozwoju Aktywnosci Miedzynarodowej i Edukacyjnej – FRAME, Poland, Pax Rhodopica Foundation, Bulgaria and Prism Impresa Sociale S.R.L., Italy.
The COVID-19 pandemic has severely impacted the entire higher education sector around the world & has shown the urgent need for digital transformation & development of digital competences in the professors & assistants to teach in hybrid/online environment. A challenge that the universities should not face alone but use it to form & strengthen the cooperation with crucial stakeholders like the IT/digital technology companies.
The main objective of DigitUni project is to support the digital transformation and to strengthen the capacity of humanities professors to provide high-quality, inclusive, digital education through development of their digital competences and strengthening their cooperation with companies-experts in digital technologies.
DigitUni has developed the following results:
1) Methodological Framework – it describes the pedagogical interactive technology of the professional – pedagogical training on how the university professors to implement online, blended and distance teaching through a hybrid or online model.
2) DigitUni Toolbox with digital resources and guidance for their application in hybrid and/or online educational process. It provides a set of digital resources to support the humanities professors to deliver high quality, inclusive digital education in the hybrid/online process.
3) Manual on hybrid/online education process for humanities professors & assistants – it explains the humanities university professors & assistants how to use the Toolbox and how to adapt their teaching style to fit to the needs of the hybrid/online education in order to deliver high quality inclusive & engaging digital education.
4) E-platform and interactive repository to be used to host all DigitUni outputs & to work as a databank with various resources (both interactive & passive materials) for both the academic staff & the students in the hybrid/online education process.
The project started on 01/01/2022 and ended on 31/12/2023.
